Just heard the news that Elmore Leonard passed away today — probably not a lot of titans left in the hard-boiled field, now.
While technically I didn’t meet Elmore, I got to hear him do an interview, live, and once got the okay to quote from one of his letters in my bio of Charles Willeford.
And I suppose I must have read, easily, more than half of his novels. Part of my life — an enjoyable part of my life.
