Rediscovered: Arkham House Ephemera Suddenly 13% Off

Aha. Today I see — just in time for Halloween — that Amazon has knocked an eldritch 13% off the $40 retail on Arkham House Ephemera: The Classic Years.

Or, as I call it, Eph Book. Published on Halloween night in 2024.

For reasons I’ll never understand the last two or three weeks Amazon has been toying with the price. First it was something like 4 cents off (yes, 4 cents). Then another cent scraped off now and then until finally they went down to $39.50 or so. Water torture stuff.

But now at $34.65 you can actually save a few bucks — if interested.

I don’t know, they might juggle again and drop somewhat lower. Maybe towards Xmas they’ll go nuts and knock it down more. A couple of years ago they cut $10 off the top heading into the big holidays — best discount I recall.

Usually Eph Book sits at $40, patient like a spider, waiting for someone to realize they really need it for reference into those arcane brochures and postcards that announced new Arkham House releases in the classic era when August Derleth helmed the firm. They catalogued the roll call for years as one title after another went out of print.

Collecting Arkham House ephemera — one of my all-time favorite bookman hobbies.
