Brian Leno popped in a pic a couple of days ago.
“Just wanted to show you my new purchase,” Brian said. “I think it’s cool as hell and it’s the right Kong — not the later bullshit. Judging by his nostrils I’d hate to be around when he blows his nose.”
Using the spines of the Og novels as a clew, it looks as if Kong is enthroned atop this cabinet in the Leno Library. Not to say he may not have it travel around some, looking for Fay Wray.
Behind Kong on the left are a couple of the slipcase years of The Cimmerian issues. I’m guessing the books to the right contain some of Brian’s essay work. Among other things he’s known for, in an issue of The Cimmerian Brian was the first guy to dope out — in print — that Robert E. Howard saw the movie King Kong.
